Model UML is a plug-in module designed to control the operation of 120VAC incandescent lamps based on digital commands received over the powerline. The module communicates using the highly-reliable Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) technology. UPB devices such as Model UML are easily integrated to provide a flexible, low-cost alternative to hardwired or RF home automation strategies.

Model UML delivers on/off and dimming control for lamps up to 400W. Installation is simple: the module is plugged into a standard 120VAC outlet and the lamp to be controlled is plugged into the bottom of the module. A non-controlled convenience outlet is also provided on the face of the module. The connected lamp can be operated manually using a UPB wall switch or multi-button controller, or automatically via PC or home automation server.
